AI can help you
AI tools take tedious work off your hands, so you have more time for what really matters. This is what they are good at:
- Writing: a first draft of an email, a quote or a job advert.
- Summarising: a long report, contract or set of minutes in a few points.
- Finding ideas: a title, an approach or arguments for and against.
- Getting explanations: an Excel formula, a technical term or a step-by-step plan.
So this course is not meant to scare you off. It wants you to use AI with confidence, without accidentally putting data in the wrong place.
The European AI Act The European law on artificial intelligence. Among other things, it asks organisations that use AI to help their staff use AI responsibly: this is called AI literacy. asks organisations to familiarise their staff with AI. This course is part of that.
What does safe mean?
Using AI safely comes down to three things:
- The right tool, with the right account. Use the tool and the account your organisation has approved for your task and your data.
- The right information in it. Do not enter sensitive personal data on your own initiative and do not share passwords. Use personal data and confidential business information only within an application that has been approved for it.
- Checking the result. AI makes mistakes. Check what you use, send or base a decision on.
And if something does go wrong, report it straight away. You will learn that in this course too.
One question to remember
Ask yourself this question with every AI tool: who can see what I just typed, and is that okay?
That question works for almost every situation: a customer email, a CV, a contract or a meeting note. It comes back in every module.
If your organisation has an AI policy, it lists the tools you may use and the rules that apply. If you follow this course through the GDPRWise app, you read and confirm that policy at the end.
