What you see here
The scan page is called “Your GDPR Compliance Jumpstart” and is public: no account needed. It consists of three screens that follow each other.
The input screen asks for your website address in a field with the example “mywebsite.com”. The “Start Discovery” button becomes “Scan yourdomain” once you type something. Below the field you read that the scan also looks for your existing privacy policy and reports any compliance issues, with the labels “No registration needed” and “~60 seconds”. If you prefer not to scan, “Prefer to set up manually?” takes you to the sign-up wizard.
During the scan you see a radar with “Analyzing” and a counter “Discovered items”, until the status “Complete” appears.
The result page opens with a verdict on your privacy policy, for example “Your privacy policy looks solid”, “Your privacy policy needs attention” or “We found no privacy policy on yourdomain”. Below it are two blocks. “Discovered assets” shows the total and the split over “Pages”, “Services”, “Systems”, “Forms”, “Fields” and “Cookies”; click a category for details. “Privacy policy review” shows a pill such as “Looks good”, “X issues”, “Not found” or “Blocked”, the page that was reviewed and, per check, a label “High”, “Medium”, “Low” or “Passed”.
What is expected of you
Enter the domain of your own website and let the scan run. If the scan could not run, for example because your website blocks automated access, the page offers two ways out: build your dossier manually via “Set up manually”, or still have your privacy policy reviewed by pasting the text, uploading a file or pointing to the right page. If the review looked at the wrong page, click “Not the right page?”.
Look at the results critically. The discovered assets are a starting point, not a complete dossier; the scan only sees what is visible on your website. To keep the overview, use “Email report” or “Download PDF”.
At the bottom you choose how to continue. Fill in “Your name” and “Email address” and click “Enter Dossier” to create a GDPRWise dossier with the discovered assets already filled in. If you want to look around first, choose “Continue as guest”. If an account already exists for this domain, the page tells you and you can log in.
Next step
After “Enter Dossier” you see “Creating your dossier…” and arrive on the Compliance Dashboard. The scan findings wait there under “Website scan findings”: every discovered service or tracker needs confirming in your customer dossier or your third party dossier.
